This is a sponsored post with Comcast.
Last week I attended the season two premiere of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, an event celebrating Comcast’s partnering with Amazon Prime Video on their Xfinity X1 platform. I threw on my favorite little black dress and headed out for an evening that I knew would be fun but secretly hoped it wouldn’t have too much tech talk. Because let’s be honest, fashion and kids are more my thing. (Cue Midge’s AMAZING outfits in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I can’t even.) Well Comcast did not disappoint. It was a fantastic party. Yummy food, good drinks, and great company. It had live dancers AND a candy bar. Two things that I now realize should always go together.
And back to the tech talk. It wasn’t boring or over my head. It was, dare I say, kinda exciting? Long story short, Prime Video is now streaming right from the X1 guide. Anyone with Xfinity has seamless access to everything Prime Video offers – original programming, thousands of premium shows and movies, and even live events. I’m completely obsessed with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the hubs and I have been wanting to watch both Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and The Romanoffs. Once we’re through those I can revisit favorites like Downtown Abbey, Suits and Friday Night Lights. All of this by just clicking on those titles from our guide. It’s *literally* that easy. The kids can get in on it too. I didn’t even realize Prime had original kids programming, but they do. Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, Pete The Cat, and Lost in Oz are all so adorable. Are these children not mesmerized? Lol.
And Xfinity does such a good job with kids. X1 has “Santa’s Village” where you can find Christmas movies, play games, sing carols, and (my favorite) track Santa in real time. You follow him on his route around the world and see how many gifts have been delivered. Is that not the cutest? Just say “Santa Tracker” into the voice command. Which brings me to my final point. The voice control remote. Look at the smile on my little one’s face when she gets a chance to “talk to the tv” in their words. When I’m cooking or trying to make a phone call, the kids being able to find what they need with a voice command is a game changer. I recently went to a “favorite things” Christmas party where we did a Yankee Swap with our favorite product from 2018. I went with Oribe Dry Shampoo, but the Comcast remote with voice control was literally a close second. I barely touch buttons anymore, and I am okay with that.

A big thank you to Comcast for including me at your fun event!
